A way to share documents across channels in a Team is to create a document library in the Teams SharePoint site.
That document library can be shared across Team Channels. It can also be shared across Teams.
Adding a library as a tab can make it easier to access, but does not change the security.
Only people who have existing access to the library can access it using the tab.
A) Add a Document Library to a Teams Channel
You can add an existing SharePoint Document Library in any Teams channel.
Click on the Add a tab button.
Select SharePoint.
Select Document libraries.
Select an existing Document Library for the current Team.
The same Document Library can be added to other channels in the Team. π
B) Add a Document Library from another Team
To add a Document Library from another Team you need the URL of that Document Library.
View that Document Library in the browser.
Select the URL and press Ctrl + C to copy it.
Go to the Team and the channel you wish to add it to.
Click the Add a tab button at the top of the Channel.
Select SharePoint.
Select Any SharePoint Site.
You can paste the URL link.
Ctrl + V to paste the copied link.
The Document Library can be viewed and used in that Team as well.
